The Greek community of Venice has a long and rich history and constitutes an important pillar of culture to this day.

The Hellenic Brotherhood preserves the Greek Orthodox identity and provides a remarkable centre for the preservation of the Greek language and education, charting a memorable course up to the creation of the Hellenic Institute of Venice in the mid-20th century.

The presence of Greeks throughout the intellectual, political and socio-economic life of Venice and the Venetian-occupied regions for centuries, before and after the fall of Constantinople, offers rich material for research and study.

Through a rich educational content, structured in lessons and enriched with photographic and audiovisual material, it gives the opportunity to approach important information about the Greek presence in Venice before and after the Fall of Constantinople, the foundation of the Greek Brotherhood and the construction of the Orthodox church of St. George of the Greeks.
